Tornado watch for parts of Colo., Wyo. and Neb.

DENVER (AP) - More severe weather is possible in the Rocky Mountain region a day after storms pummeled Wyoming and Colorado.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for parts of the two states as well as Nebraska through Thursday night. Forecasters say thunderstorms that can spawn tornadoes could develop.

Preliminary reports show that about five tornadoes touched down in Colorado from storms starting Wednesday, including one near Denver International Airport. No serious damage was reported.

Rain provided some help to firefighters wrapping up at a 227-acre wildfire in northern Colorado. But the storm hurt efforts to control a 6,000-acre blaze in Wyoming's Medicine Bow National Forest.

No rain fell there, and winds buffeted the fire. Golf ball-sized hail fell near the Wyoming city of Cheyenne.
